Christie uses this effective technique in conjuction with postural assessment which allows her to see where soft tissue patterns have developed and may be the cause of dysfunction.

What is myo-fascial release?
Myofascial release is a soft tissue therapy which aims to relieve pain, increase range of motion and balance the body. The technique involves stretching the skin and thereby affecting the underlying superficial fascia, the connective tissue, that surrounds and attaches to and from muscles, ligaments and bones. By applying a firm slow moving pressure the adhesions or bonds between the fascia, which have developed due to misuse, can release and return to their fluid state. This increases range of motion and reduces the pain associated with these adhesions.
